Cycleboat Boston offers unique pedal powered tours of Boston Harbor. We are hiring outgoing and friendly crew to provide these relaxing and enjoyable tours. Being a Cycleboat crewmember can be a very enjoyable position for those who like interacting with their passengers and sharing their knowledge of the Boston Harbor.

SEEKING LICENSED BOAT CAPTAINS- mature, detail-oriented, licensed captains for our three USCG Certified 16, 24 & 26 passenger cycleboat vessels with auxiliary outboard motors. Candidates will operate 1.5 hr Boston Inner Harbor tours with an assisting crewmember. Captains will supervise and assist their crewmember when needed in daily setup, passenger boarding and supervision, routine maintenance and end of day cleanup. The captain will have final responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.

Must have USCG Master Captain’s License 25 ton minimum, knowledge of Coast Guard safety procedures and Emergency Drills to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew members, be able to comply with Coast Guard requirements including drug and alcohol program, CPR and First Aid certification, Transportation Workers Identification TWIC Card. Applicants should have good interpersonal skills, and enjoy interaction with passengers. A general knowledge of or a desire to learn and share details of the history and points of interest of the Boston Harbor will be helpful. A strong focus on safety and a desire to deliver friendly service is very important.

Mid-April thru October full-time or part-time positions available – some weekend and holiday availability is required.

$30/hr + tips that can be very generous – all gratuities are divided equally between Captain and Deckhand Assistant.

Shifts set weekly can vary from 3.5hrs to 12hrs per day with an attempt to accommodate but can not guarantee crewmembers scheduling preferences. Some weekend and holiday availability is required.

Tips can be very generous + parking reimbursement.

USCG Master Captain’s License 25ton minimum (required).

Cycleboat Boston Deckhand/Assistant

Cycleboat Boston offers unique pedal powered tours of Boston Harbor. We are hiring outgoing and friendly crew to assist our Captains in providing these relaxing and enjoyable tours.Being a Cycleboat Crewmember can be a very enjoyable position for those who like interacting with their passengers and sharing their knowledge of the Boston Harbor.

Greeting guests when they board the boat as well as updating trip manifests and selling tickets. Answering the phone and replying to text messages and emails while on board. Aware of hazards and emergency response protocols. Assisting with cleaning the boat after each tour as well as assisting with routine boat maintenance. Stands navigation lookout watch alongside the Captain. Carry out captain’s orders. Participates in all onboard drills. Load or unload materials from vessels. Handle lines to moor vessels to the pier.

Be polite, responsible, friendly, hard-working, and able to lift 50 pounds. Multilingual skills are desirable but not required. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred. Maritime or mechanical experience with boats is a plus but not required. Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers. Strong focus on customer service.
